We can't say enough positive things about La Toya and her team. Working with her not only made our wedding seamless, it was actually a joy to the point that I'm looking to throw a big anniversary party or something just so that we get to work with her again. She was reliable, very detail oriented, answered all of our questions, and her team was just as great. She was dependable and allowed us to have calm and confidence in the days leading to the wedding. One thing that also makes her special was that she understood, accepted, and adopted all of the special details that make us who we are. (Small example: We had two "best people" rather than a best man and a maid of honor, and she used this term with full seriousness.) She respected and supported all aspects of our wedding, including those that were not traditional. She also referred us to lots of great vendors-- our videographer, makeup and hair all came from her and they were great recommendations. Our caterer ended up being very difficult and unreliable and La Toya handled it and shielded us from it. And I'll never forget when my five-year-old niece was getting her hair done and was crying because she's tenderheaded, La Toya held her hand and talked her through it and distracted her. A godsend! We love her!

La Toya took the stress out of so many tasks. She was a shield against the various vendors we were dealing with. She also kept things very organized and worked with us the entire day of the wedding. I've known LaToya for over 15 years, and her work with Elle Kay Events still amazes me. I have worked with Elle Kay events for children birthday parties, and seen her in action as a day of wedding coordinator in the past, but having them as our wedding planner topped the cake. As a very type A person, always focused on the details, the plan, and sticking to the budget, LaToya was able to keep me calm and not worried about at thing, which is hard! It was comforting to not only have her worry about the event of the wedding, but my husband and I as people. She was able to incorporate and meet our personal needs, while flawlessly executing our vision for the event. She has the unique ability to mix the people-side with the business-side of her work.

LaToya recommended all of our vendors, and each of them were just as professional and personable as her. In addition to working with her recommended vendors, she was able to work with outside vendors and give a helping hand for the DIY activities we wanted to implement for cost-savings. Since I've mentioned cost savings, I must also highlight her ability to stay within our budget! She didn't pressure us to increase our budget, or make us feel uncomfortable/sad with what we could afford. She had recommendations and ideas for every budget, that were still of good quality.

Every event has its snags, but we knew nothing about them until AFTER our honeymoon, because she's just that good at being flexible, always having an alternative option, being planful, and having a great team! She even made sure everything was handled upon our return, so we would not have any follow-ups to address.

LaToya is truly a professional in her craft and I will continue to sing her praises and recommend her to anyone that needs an event planner. Elle Kay Events is amazing!

We did not know where to begin when it came to wedding planning, and La Toya made it simple, easy, and sometimes fun. She made everything look easy and we did not have to worry about a single thing. She was thorough in her communication, following up when we needed prompting, and always met us where we were. She offered great suggestions, provided guidance, and even played mediator when we needed it. "compromise, compromise, compromise!" We completed trusted La Toya with what we needed to do, when we needed to do it, and how we should do it. We also trusted that she knew our preferences and tastes, and offered vendor suggestions that matched. Without La Toya, our wedding planning would have been ten times more work and a lot less fun. I absolutely loved working with Elle Kay Events for my wedding coordinator needs and highly recommend them! You can't go wrong! I hired Elle Kay events as my wedding coordinator for my Halloween wedding. My wedding was in Chicago and I live in Seattle, so I knew I needed someone to help the week of my wedding. When I reached out to the owner of Elle Kay events, LaToya Keys, I was surprised to hear her day of coordinator options included starting to work with her clients 4-6 weeks out. This is what made her initially stand out from other vendors who didn't come on board until 5-7 days max before the wedding. I interviewed 5 different day of coordinators and ended up going with LaToya because of the length of time she was involved in the process, the cost effectiveness for her services, her staff that would be involved, her scope of services, and her excellent references. Because I was living out of town in a different time zone, most of our communication was via email which was my preference. I was coming back to Chicago for Bridal Shower about 6 weeks before my wedding and LaToya made sure she scheduled some time to meet me in person to go over things. At the time of our meeting, my DJ had just cancelled on me after realizing he was double booked. LaToya stepped right in and said she had a DJ that would be perfect for us. And boy was he! (Best DJ Ever!) Anything that popped up in the process, LaToya had a solution for. To say she went above and beyond is an understatement. All I had to do was get ready and enjoy the happiest day of my life. Working with La Toya was truly an awesome experience! From our first meeting with La Toya I felt she would work hard to make our day very special. Working with a limited budget in the wedding industry is never easy and she treated us like stars that had an unlimited budget. Her attention to detail and the questions she would ask are things I never would have thought of on my own. With every aspect she kept our budget in mind and that was really important to my husband. She was there for every major appointment and her recommendations for vendors where awesome! You definitely need to work with someone you feel not only is business oriented, but will treat you like a friend since you will only get to do this once. Even my Husband was impressed with how she handled every aspect of the wedding. Besides the budget, the most important part to him was music and not only did she have recommendations but she got each DJ to make a sample of their work.
